The Last but Not The End

"There is no failure except not trying again." - Elbert Hubbard

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the last blog on the course on Listening For Academic Purposes. It doesn't feel like we have gone through so many meetings and different types of assignments and different levels of difficulty. here I will tell you about the final test given for the final exam of this course. We are given 3 different types of questions and each level in my opinion is getting more difficult.

The last meeting, for part A questions like the types of questions we worked on before, this part is quite easy because we have got the same types of questions. But I felt that the time given was insufficient, I don't know why, but with 40 minutes for 30 questions of that type less, so I collected them at the last second. but I am grateful that I got a good score in one try. Furthermore, the Part B question consists of 8 questions, but has a slightly longer text than before so I have to listen to the audio 2-3 times to remember the points asked from the question. for the last part or part 3 it has 12 questions with the same time and a long question too, I repeated it once because there was a question that I doubted the correctness of the answer I chose and it was true that the question was wrong because when I repeated it by answering the same answer and only change the answer that I think is doubtful, it seems correct because the value has increased from before and there is still one question which I do not know where the error lies at that time.

Thankyou to Miss Novi for teaching us, especially me in this Listening For Acedemic Purpose course, I hope all the lessons given can be remembered and used well in the future.

Thank you for reading my blog to the end.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." - Vivian Greene

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the thirteenth blog, I made it early because I finished the task early. we answer the types of questions with the theme SHORT DIALOGUES STRATEGIES and end with a review of the exercise. Last week's assignment was overwhelming but each task consisted of only 10 questions and it took fifteen minutes to complete it. I finished it well with the various obstacles that exist.

Last meeting,  we are working on three unit assignments which are divided into several sections and finally there is a formative test 5, it turns out that this is an example of a question that is often used in the TOEFL test. For units 1 and 2 it goes well, sometimes I repeat 1 or 2 times because the value has not reached the passing grade limit provided but when I arrive at unit 3, I have to repeat more than 3 times and have not reached the passing grade. I am very confused about which part is wrong from my answer choice because I think the answer I choose is in accordance with the dialogue that I heard, it makes me dizzy so much that I postpone doing the task haha. Finally, the Formative test 5 is the same as unit 3, there is one part that I repeated several times. However, all of that really trains my listening process in solving this dialogue problem. It turned out that the choice that I thought was correct is still not right because it does not cover the conclusion of the whole dialogue.

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the twelfth blog, I am writing this very late than usual because it was fasting and I really feel lazy to write this blog. but I have made a summary of what difficulties I faced before. The previous meeting I think we didn't have a meeting on google meet to discuss the previous assignment or maybe I was the one who slept and didn't attend the class, but my feelings are always right :)

Last meeting, I think there was nothing so difficult from the previous assignment because previously we also faced similar questions so there were no specific difficulties, again we have to focus on listening to the statements submitted and choosing the correct answer. Alhamdulillah, most of the results are above the value of 9 and the error is not more than 5. The vocabulary used is still mostly basic vocabulary so you can still guess about the answers related to the statement. My weaknesses are still the same, sometimes I have translated vocabulary while doing the assignment but then the next day with the same vocabulary I have forgotten the meaning :(

One Hundred and Fifty Numbers

"Dream in life, don't live in a dream."

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the eleventh blog in the Listening course. I am writing this blog at the same time as my tenth bloh because just yesterday I finished my listening assignment for this week. This week like last week, we immediately work on assignments at SyamOk. There are no special difficulties this week because the tasks are similar to yesterday's.

On Thursday, MissNoopyy only informed her that she had transferred her assignment to SyamOk, for this week there were 6 assignments given with each assignment with 25 numbers in it. Quite tiring but very helpful in honing our Listening skills. When I heard all the audio, I didn't know or maybe it was just my feeling, but in all the audio there were many questions that were similar to other audio, for example in the audio for the first assignment there was audio that was similar to the audio for the second assignment. As for my own grades, I am very happy because I don't have to repeat an assignment because most of the scores are above 80.

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the tenth blog in the Listening course. I am writing this blog very late because there are many tasks with tight deadlines and also a lot of listening tasks at this meeting, until there are several tracks that I have to repeat 2 times because the scores have not reached the desired standard. But, I can do well for now.

Last Thursday, we didn't have a virtual meeting on GoogleMeet because maybe we were fasting and there were still many sleeping at that time including me (I just made up hahah). For assignments 01 and 02 I repeated them again because the scores did not meet the passing grades provided so I had to repeat them, fortunately when I repeated them I got satisfactory results, but it was very difficult to repeat than just starting. because when repeating, we repeat the same audio but we don't know what mistake we made on the first try. Luckily on the track after that I got the right score so I didn't have to repeat the audio again.

"Remember today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday"

Hello Reader!!

I hope all is well this week :)

This is the ninth Blog on the Listening Course. I'm writing this blog on the second day of fasting because just yesterday I finished all the tasks in Syam-OK and it feels so lazy to write on the blog :). But, I have to keep my spirit in completing all tasks. Last week, we had a meeting in Googlemeet to discuss the difficulties of the previous assignment and practice to answer the questions together with the previous assignment.

Last Thursday, we started the weekly lesson by first meeting on Google Meet, after that we answered the assignment at Syam-OK. There are 6 tasks given and I think the last three tasks are quite difficult to do compared to the previous three tasks. Especially on track 59, I repeated it once because the value had not reached the limit. The next difficulty is that we don't know which answer is wrong and correct, so when repeating the track answer is very confusing. There are also many questions that are very difficult to connect with the answer. I often think to myself "A is correct, but Answer B also sounds right", it was so confusing that I only answered one of them by reading "Bismillah, I hope it's true" hahahah and there are also many Vocabularies that I don't know how to write.

Hello Reader!!

How are you?

This is my eighth blog in the Listening course. This week, we are given assignments from Wednesday to Wednesday again. The task is difficult and easy to do (hahah) because if there is some vocabulary that I don't know, I just listen carefully to the first sentence that is asked whether it's what, where, when or something else.

Starting from Track 9-15 where the audio is still in the text and can still be understood when listening to it, I like this type because we listen to one part of the audio and immediately there is a choice of answers under it. I think it's simple compared to other tracks. After this track, it turns out that the other tracks are even more difficult but I still use the tips that I have and are quite useful :). But there are some questions that I repeat several times because I haven't got the keywords from that question. Overal, this Quiz is very challenging.
